What causes Song Scaling Level or Instrument Skill?

When I use the Vellicosa's dot line it says scales damage from 8 (L8) to 100 (L60). But the base damage while singing is at 85, with a singing skill of 305.

So something seems slightly off. Singing and Level should put the song at the stated caps right?

I have a relatively low brass skill about 100. So it seems it is either using the Brass skill value, even if you are singing to determine the scaling or something is definitely weird here.

I would expect that if I sing the song at Level 60 I would see 100 damage onto the mob per the description, and then if I use a Brass Instrument (in this case), the song effect increases.

The damage lines should also scale off of Cha now.

yes but 100 is listed as the BASE damage on the ability at level 60. Not 60CHA (which i have more than).

I 100% agree with you that something isn't right. My interpretation of the tooltip is at level 60, the base damage should be 100 and scale up with CHA. (and go even higher if boosted with an instrument)

FWIW it took 141 CHA to get to 102 base damage with singing.

So the scaling of the damage was working.

The weird bit is the basic Simple Brass Horn 50% mod, makes the damage go from 102 to 150 so some rounding or order of operations is not causing a straight 50% bump from singing.
