Thematically this looks great. Naturally it would have been cool to have the Profane Study mechanic in place for EA, but that is understandable given the underlying complexity.

Having a kick available while using a 2H, the new Reave, etc really cement this as the correct choice for me as someone who wanted 'plate armor dude with sword'.

I'm very curious to see how strong the new lifetaps/drains are. They were feeling quite anemic after the AGI rework. I'm also curious to see if you get the actual NPC model when you summon a pet with their soul, or if it's a shared/generic model of some sort.

Edit: Shawn/Xilith clarified in discord: the Soul Siphon is currently a common model, but that may change in the future.

Nice and a lot less disruptive then feared. I did notice that SK kept kick as a shield less alternative making me wonder if Inquisitor will also get kick back again?

The class fantasy for SK is my favorite of all the options and this all sounds in line. A little nervous to roll this as a first class since I'm not familiar with EQ or tanking much from other MMOs but running around all doom and gloom with a 2H, plate, and a creepy pet is too amazing to pass up.

Durgurbur Tanking generally boils down to 3 parts.

Know what you are up against. On tougher fights learn the fight. The more you know about the fight the better you can manage your life, threat, and damage.
Know how to maximize threat. This is what gear you should use, what stats you should prioritize, procs/buffs/debuffs and other agro generating items.
Know what you can do to prolong your life. This can be things like knowing which cooldown to use, turning off auto attack to avoid riposte damage/damage shields, swapping to 1h + shield, landing a stun, using consumables, etc.

I think tanking in MnM will be on the easier side of things, but I think you still owe it to yourself and your group to try to be a better tank by learning the intracies of your role.

i'll reserve judgement until i've played. The elementalist re-work looked amazing on paper but turned out poo poo. I don't get excited about bullet points and walls of text anymore. Lets see how it performs and what hidden gotchas sneak up on implementation.

Durgurbur Melee on launch sucks bro. No gate, 100 lbs weight, no room strength to carry loot. just twink it later, you want a good green farmer that can get shit done naked and gate for your first toon. Necro/ele

Looks great so far! I’m really excited that we get to keep the pet and Pet Sacrifice. I honestly thought that part of raid tanking was going to be gone.

I’m excited to get in and play! The Splurt-like DoT is a great idea. I really hope it’s more mana-efficient, though. Before, we only had enough mana to either tap or DoT, so I’m hoping this gives us a little more to do and makes the rotation feel more engaging.

The HP/mana regen buff is SUPERRRRR great!! Really excited about that!

If everyone thought this way there would be no other classes on the launch of the game but Necro and Ele. What a shame it would be. Play what you want to have fun with, not what is optimal.

Refrain from the min/max lifestyle, the itches might get to you. But they run their course sooner rather than later.

Velthorian based on the notes they didn't really take away any attack spells. So it looks good so far. In the ele rework notes it didn't say they removed the elemental blast spells though. So, let's hope they didn't take away any skills that would affect the rotation or gameplay. Anyways the rework is a big slap in the face to elementalist, none the less.

sword and board, you CAN tank with a 2h, but if your tanking you dont want to get hit as much to save on healer manna.
