Best Necro Race

I'm stuck between human, goblin, and gnome, with each having a specific plus -- gnome's high int, for example -- but I'm not familiar enough with necro to know the ideal stat distribution or other benefits. Can anyone chime in with the best race or races for necro?

Name

The stat differences are so small as to be meaningless. Pick based on vibes and what you can live with, and visual perspective (short/med/tall). Primary stat to bump is INT.

Name Ty, so goblin's low charisma isn't a big deal? Do many necros play human or is that the minority pick?

Best race in EQ was Iksar. They looked cool and had innitate hp regen 🙂

Noctilus Dex for channeling primarily, confirmed recently by Xilith. Ali said something about dex being used for "spell hit" 3 years ago on discord, but not sure what that entails.

jobanab dex improves your % chance to land a melee attack (in addition to the channeling improvement mentioned)

Deep Gnome and gnome have high INT. Prolly those would be good.. Thought about human just because I have a cool name but not sure yet on what to pick.

Probably deep gnome. High Int, Ultravision, and all the racials look somewhat useful on necro.

The Aoe Stun from gnome or the invis drop agro from deep gnome is the hard decision right now.

Refried the aggro drop is useful on any class but I think a bit less useful on necro because we already have access to feign death.

I think I'm likely going Sprint Gnome. I would go Deep Gnome if I didn't have to take Ultravision. I just can't stand the blurry distance vision in above ground daylight. I think the Deep Gnome sac health to heal party could be cool on necro because you could do that and just tap back up right after for some group heal utility.

I wanted to be either Goblin or Deep Elf, but it feels like they aren't as good as other races. I'm stuck and have no idea what to do now. I don't want to be a deep gnome tbh

Ralz I don't find "Sewer-born" that good for necro, I'd rather go "Bloodstalker’s Apprentice" then.

Light The snare removal is really nice. However, I don't know if I could stand playing without Infravision. Not sure about you.

Doozle90 Agreed, I would go deepgnome for that regen one but I am not a Deep Gnome but I am a commited Gnome.

Pick the one with the innate abilities that you prefer. The extra point or two in certain stats will make very little difference at endgame.

Doozle90 with the amount of time you'll spend in dungeons later on, either xp'ing or farming, I think you'll find ultravision is going to be invaluable.
Plus, there's night time up top. Maybe the blur just doesn't bother me as much as others, but I totally get it.
I can't stand the way gnomes look so I could never play a gnome character but the deep gnome is something totally different. if you choose the right combination of features during creation, they look undead'ish and I love the glowing eyes.
Also, that deep gnome escape racial is going to be nice, even on a necro. not sure if you have ever experienced critical failures on spells but it's annoying. you have a failure on feign death and that racial could be the difference between sitting at a campfire to regain health or a corpse run back to your body/loss of xp.
