Most of the groups I get are incredibly unskilled.
If I don't play Enchanter? Enchanter fails to CC, group wipes and/or Enchanter rage quits very quickly.
If I don't play puller? People stand around doing nothing, other groups are killing all the mobs around us that our group would normally get.
If I don't play healer? Tank dies 99% of the time.
If I play healer? I cast heal one time, and get aggro from 3 un-cc'd adds and die.
Having to twist people's arms to try and get them to move to real / viable camps. Like we went to Tel Ekir earlier, and I was dumbfounded that as soon we zoned in my group dropped a camp fire at the zone line. Not anywhere near mobs or a camp. Spent 3 hours begging them to move to a real camp, offering to show them the way, to no avail. We sure got trained a bunch though by sitting at the zone line and trying to pull mobs from 50 miles away.
Still love the game and having fun. But I think y'all aren't playing with the type of groups I'm playing with if you think the experience is too fast. And that's if you can even find a group. Feels like solo'ing is legit faster than a lot of these groups where it feels like people genuinely have no clue what they are doing.
I always casually ask people if they played EverQuest before to try and make sense of no one using assist and my CC getting broken every 2 seconds when I'm on Enchanter. I could understand this from non-EQ players, but dawg, what are yall doing where it's normal for everyone in the group to be attacking a random mob? Even non melees be over here randomly using auto attack to break CC. Like what the heck are you doing, dawg?
Having a blast either way - wouldn't change it for the world - but nah this ain't fast. I've had some good groups, usually a group of friends who exclusively play together who just randomly invited me to their group, but for the most part it's pretty brutal. The other night in BTB I finally just typed /camp without saying anything after dying 5 times in 20 minutes because my group wouldn't listen to me. For context I had 0 deaths on most of the characters I leveled to 20+ on play tests and beta. EA definitely brought the casuals out.
Edit: I'm not going to name drop, but I also ran into a Shaman who really thought Shamans were Enhancement Shamans from World of Warcraft. I was on my Druid and he was like "thank god we have a healer, Shamans are terrible healers!"
I was honestly taken aback by this statement, especially since he had several levels on me. After about 30 minutes of playing with him I understood why he was bad at healing. He was completely OOM the entire time because he was standing and melee'ing. I don't know what spells he was casting, but it definitely wasn't heals. I really think he never got the memo that Shamans in EQ have nothing in common with Shamans from WoW.
