Is this intended gameplay?

Gamex

Last 5 times I go to level, all the mobs are just being kited by one bard. If this is now the game, then let's just all play bard.
If you can't beat em, join em right? I'll come pull the whole zone and we can fight over our circles.

Gamex

Revreign Not sure what nerfs you're talking about - was just watching 2 bards wreck all the bats at level 30, faster than 3 bats (1 charm, 2 uncharmed) were doing damage.

Were they really even stronger before? impressive

DesertHam

Gamex I swear to god you people don't even play the game you just live on the forums and bitch. No bard is kiting all the mobs unless they are brain dead 3 second cast time + 1 second gcd so to keep 4 things dotted thats 32 seconds worth of casting.

Kiting 3 things is about max you should do from an efficiency stand point if you are a sweaty try hard 3 things plus a charm doing 2-20 damage a hit.

Make sure the things you are kiting don't have bolas btw or run speed or gap closer or ranged attacks.... Which is 75% of the game after level 25.

Meanwhile there is an Elementalist standing borderline afk chain killing dark blue mobs but ya bard is super op lmao.

Edit: When I exp with my static group its at least 4x as fast to get xp, bard has been nerfed so hard its almost a waste of time to solo.

DesertHam

Gamex Bard and Enchanter could do some goofy things in beta before they added a lot of the counter balances to kiting and nerfed charm into the dirt. Enchanter definitely felt the nerf the worst but Bard is by far the most heavily nerfed class in the game.

Everyone on here crying about how broken they are go make one tell me how you are doing in a months time if you are still face rolling on your op bard.

Revreign

DesertHam the complainers are ruining the bard. In a month or two they will be posting about how nobody plays bard so they cant find one for their group. I still play bard because of EQ nostalgia, but if a friend were to ask me what class to play I would tell them 10 other classes before I even thought of recommending bard. Like you said, bards aren't kiting 20 mobs around at a time. One dumb dude might be doing it and killing 2 or 3 very slowly at a time, so let's out it in the PNP and reprimand that player for being rude. Ruining the entire class because one person is griefing isn't the solution

Fell

Greywulf Guess that means they are invis nerfing just like how they are invis in all the forums replying to people's concerns.

They're not invis. They're BUSY. You've got a group of volunteers who just did an open release and suddenly got 30K subs when they were optimistically expecting maybe a third of that. And they're STILL posting to the forums, to discord, and to patch notes. They can't do everything all at once though.

DesertHam Bard is by far the most heavily nerfed class in the game.

I'm curious how you arrived at this conclusion. Enchanters took an 80-85% damage nerf making charm totally useless, had their summon pet nerfed also, lost greater invis, lost enchant ally, had mana transfer nerfed to 10% of its current utility, and lost multi-target lull (only bards have that now, /boggle). Oh, and the deep dives gave even more classes CC tools and the ability to regen mana without enchanter buffs, further eroding the "support" class role.

Revreign

Fell I agree that Enchanters were nerfed just as hard or harder than bards. So we can probably agree that the 2 support classes have been repeatedly nerfed and are no longer fun. So one of the 4 pillars of group composition have been destroyed to appease complainers on the internet.

Adagia

We need to remember that the devs stated there would be a balance phase after the deep dive changes were complete. We are still in Early Access, I can wait to see what happens. I've been very impressed with this team and have faith the improvements will continue.

Gamex

DesertHam You are exactly right, I'm not playing the game anymore, because well, all the monsters are being kited in a circle as I sit here.

Broheem

Gamex whille i don't condone bards doing this shit. I have to say your resolve is pathetic. You're quitting the game because a few bards are pulling all the wolves and drakes and bears? Go find a humanoid camp bards can't pull those without dying. Or maybe message the bard and call them out on their shit behavior.

Gamex

Broheem What up my Broheem?
I rerolled off enchanter to a group style class, Shaman. Will just go level on camps like you said. I figured I can't stop the bards without stealing their mobs and breaking the rules, so I'll do exactly what you said and reroll. If this ends up being boring, the last result will simply be joining the bards and I'll just steal everyone's mobs. But I guess as I think of it more, I don't want to be like that to other people, because I know how it feels on the other end. Maybe just try another class at that point.
Lastly, I did message them. As you can imagine, they don't care Broheem. And why should they? They get all the xp and technically don't break any rules.

vidardabard

DesertHam This is my experience as well. Sure, we can kite half the zone IF we're really careful not to pull mobs with snare, blind, stun, gap closers, etc, but the TTK makes the XP way less than being in a decent group.

Really the only time I see kiting being optimal is when you're farming loot, not xp. I see a lot of this happening at Cinder Beetles for example. The exception, of course, would be bots.
