Manually training Dodge & Parry at level one is a noob trap

Fidric

Dodge Skill

Several classes are able to gain the dodge skill, but it was not available on their class trainers.

This is fixed, and class trainers will now teach dodge to Clerics, Druids, Elementalists, Enchanters, Necromancers, Shamans, and Wizards.

just make applicable classes start with one in these skills so they will organically level up rather than having to trapse across to the class trainer to unlock for 5c a piece on your fresh start character, let alone the people who will not know to do that.

Name

Agree. There is nothing intuitive to new players about right clicking every npc you come across and that 45 SK example and others is awful. Just let it skill up from 0.

vrax

Why do you think it should be intuitive?

bobthebunny

vrax maybe so we enjoy playing the game..?

Krake

It's not that hard to just go to your trainer and learn it. How are people complaining about this and yet way more egregious issues remain contentious?

The New Player Guide on the main website does say the person listed on the note you start with is a skill trainer. It also later says to right click your skill trainer to see their offerings.

In other words, new players who never played EQ should literally read the manual.
