Has anyone figured out how the blessings happen yet?

Blessings that I know are Piety (mana regen) and Wrath (melee dmg boost). I haven't seen any others yet.

From my time playing, it seems like most of them come from hitting Holy Strike but, I've randomly received blessings just standing around.
Are they just something that can happen at any moment or is there something Clerics can do to increase the odds for 1 blessing or the other?

If it is just something that can randomly happen at any moment, I think that's not the best way to go at it.
The blessings themselves are an awesome idea and great inclusion to the Cleric lore and gameplay wise.
They should be rare, don't get me wrong but, the player should have some way to increase their odds of getting them by performing certain actions.

I love how they are random. Makes me want to main cleric in EA. Fun class! Feels so good when your god blesses you.

What about a new skill addition called "Pray" or something along those lines with a short CD.
This skill could give your team a small amount of heal or regen and slightly increase your odds to proc a Piety.
This could be something you'd cast when you're super low on mana and desperate for some help.
Maybe only castable with 20% or less Mana.

Same for a skill to slightly increase your odds of a Wrath.
Maybe an additional strike on a CD that does some SMALL holy DOT dmg and each tick has a tiny chance to give you a Wrath proc on each tick every 5 seconds.

Something like that to give the player a bit more control on what they're fishing for.

I know why you want to have more control over it... I was there at first glance too, because the blessings are too good when they happen. But the more I play as it is, the more I love it. Please don't change it- our god is awesome.

sumofunk If they did get some slight control, they'd have to nerf the blessings a bit.
I just think it feels really bad when i get blessing proc just walking and then nothing while fighting for my life.

stuff like this needs to be explained to the players either out of game via the deep dive or in game via tooltips.

we lack either in any capacity.

This just goes back to people fishing for Piety but now on cooldown.

I'm a fan of the randomness of it all, just play and enjoy the game and adapt to the blessings as they happen. I think MMO's need more of this, not everything needs to be explained completely.

I know min/maxers tend to lose their minds with these types of mechanics but there are plenty of other classes to play for them. I think the Paladin would also be very fun to play with something similar.

even as someone that wanted a meaningful reason to get into melee to deliver and take hits the 10s holy strike min/max obligation is worse than the old 1m supplication upkeep

I've seen it proc while sitting. Seems like any action can trigger it and meditation ticks technically count as an action, I guess?

Would much prefer a system that allows you some control. Like every time cast a spell you have a chance to gain, "Blessing of X (Deity)" which empowers your next heal or damage spell in a variety of ways.

At least that way you could choose when/how to spend the blessing.

The types that want all mechanics explained are often the same ones that are stuck min/maxing their groups, min/maxing their playstyle, and frankly damaging the fun of the mmo genre.

A little mystery goes a long way to making things seem more magical.

Ensi I completely agree. The devs should keep it under wraps so that players can explore the world and uncover and hypothesize for themselves. Similar to how people came to the Cleric DD thread and immediately started asking for full explanations of “what does x do,” “what does this mean,” “I need full elaboration for how this works.” Play the game and uncover it either by yourself, a group of friends, or as an entire community.

I like that OP came here for a community understanding - it builds on how information can be shared as a group, bringing back that niche past time. Just strange that the open-ended question then gets compounded by people effectively asking for the back-end code/formula like they need a WoWhead to beta test the class.

Blessing Barrier resolving can cause a random miracle to happen, which is why it happens during sitting sometimes.

I have a feeling this randomness will be increased when the faith system is more fully integrated.

devs should make prayer like Iter Vehemens Ad Necem where constantly begging for boons will only piss gods off and cause them to smite you.

I am a dps cleric and I like it. I mix it up, blinding foes to pull aggro then casting a stun to ensure my heal goes off. I am a Frontline healer with blood on my brow.

Please dont make it lame in account of "feels bad" crowd. Life will grant them perspective and they will feel less.
