Wrath & Piety

Jerri

How does a cleric earn the Wrath and the Piety buffs? I thought it was a chance to proc from the Holy Strike, but this doesn't seem to be the case. I've had them proc when I'm running along mining, or just running and doing nothing at all. /confused please help

It is a miracle blessing from your deity with no known reason - it is even called 'miraclerepeat' if viewed with sense magic.

Consider it a boon from your God - but do not question why! 🙂

Jerri

Ensi And if you have no god casuse your agnostic?

Shoklen

Jerri This was answered by Shawn I believe (correct me if I am wrong, I'm sure someone will)... You may not have a God but you believe in yourself, a purpose, a reason, a drive, motivation, ect... It's how you can have Paladins without "god" so to speak. Even in D&D and other games.

Hiding random chance unexplained (and literally unmentioned in game) key class mechanics behind a guise of 'just have blind faith' is not the level of meta roleplaying I personally want to engage with and does not lead to a satisfying gameplay experience for me.

Fidric

p.s. just wait until a random doing nothing proc breaks your invisbility in the middle of danger

Nazgrimn

Fidric I would like to second this. There's nothing fun about it. Relying on random procs to help balance a class just isn't good design, in my opinion. Players want control over their characters and when you have 2 procs that are so important and yet so random, it makes it more of an annoyance than anything.

If Cleric is meant to be a melee healer it doesn't work with very rare random Piety procs for mana regen; if you are meleeing you are not meditating. Piety has to be either more common and/or also be procced from spells/auto attacks. Shamans can print mana with Consume, and Druids have their Season mechanic for mana management; both are deterministic not random.

zXzLenin As I understand it No your not supposed to solely be a melee healer. You can take a few swings and shrug off the damage where other healers may die since they use lighter armor. Kind of like Supplication was before the revamp. Stand up take a swing of two and sit. I know they still have that effect but can't remember what spell they put it in with.

Jerri

[unknown] I already had that happen to me while running to a group in FP the other day. What a joke

Jerri

Nazgrimn Perhaps if there were a set of actions required in a order or something that would guarantee the proc of whichever buff you were after

zXzLenin

Tsunamisan Its Holy Strike now every 10 seconds if you want to do the whole using it and sitting; atleast Supplication was 1 minute.

I wish holy strike was 30 seconds and just did 3x the dmg and proc chance
