Luda It felt incredibly good doing the things a shaman was capable of doing while trying to fit in consumes as often as possible. And I would still find my mana bar dropping. When the camp was in control, it was fun being able to do a little extra since I didn’t need to heal much. But where the class shined was in camps that were NOT easy. You could tell a great shaman apart from average one. The same goes for great druids and clerics and enchanters etc.
It’s great to watch people play their class and shine! We were able to shine.
This is what made me fall in the love with the class. I really hope they bring back consume.
And really? The same day they drop FW they also drop the Shaman? FW is hard as hell. Give us the chance to work it! Holy shit I would LOVE to play FW with the pre-nerf Shaman. Now I barely want to go in there because I’d be embarrassed to.
Going back to the infinite mana thing - no, we didn’t have infinite mana. Even a guildy of mine (Cohesion) once told me Shamans have infinite mana. No, that’s not
true. At all. If you’re doing barely anything sure. But if you’re debuffing, slowing, rooting, healing, buffing, etc, you’re running your mana bar down much faster than you could consume. So you still had to be smart about mana consumption. But there was nothing wrong with this. Consume just allowed us to stay in the action and not have to sit and do nothing for 2 minutes at a time. Now we can barely cast anything or do anything without running our mana bar dry.
Devs - Please hear me out - We are literally shells of what we used to be.
Consume - a huge advantage of consume was that we could regain some mana without having to sit down. I would sit down as often as I could regardless, because then I could recover even faster, but not having to sit down constantly for minutes at a time was the reason I even put in all that time as a Shaman. It was SO MUCH FUN.
IMHO: the pre-nerfed Shaman gameplay should be used as an example of how other classes should operate. And then just make the game a little harder. I know it’s too late for this probably, but what a missed opportunity. The gameplay was PERFECT. It was amazing. And to the Shamans that like it better now? You didn’t have to do all the things before. You could play the exact way you play now if you enjoy how it is now. Just consume every 45 seconds if you want.
Guys, can you tell after all these posts that I’m hurting on the inside?
I’m hurting because it was so good before. What a fun class it was /cry.
It’s beta. I’m going to cross my fingers and hope they were just testing something real quick with the 45. Or maybe they have someone they hate that’s playing a shaman and wanted to stick it to them lol. Oh maaaan.
