Verily Verily I did quite a bit of farming in the Slime Valley area 50+ in SGS. Aside from basic stuff that drops, Fillets, rusty weapons, etc. I only ever saw something else of interest and it was this Regrowth page. Can't remember what mob because our CLR had looted it and I noticed.
8 slots in the book, yes but I imagine we would need some form of Ink which I cannot find. Cartographer has no ink. Shady folks, the dwarf near night market doesn't sell any. I am currently making alts of every class to check their spell vendor/reagent vendors. Alchemist has a Jar of Yellow Paint but the Empty Jars required for the Jar of Saffron and Jar of Eggs are not in game at the moment (disabled per Wiki). I then tried Charcoal, tried using it in the mortar and pestle, different combinations of 3 charcoal 1 flask of water. Haven't tried smashing it with anvil (doubt). I am trying charcoal because FTR class quest reads "Elrind Steele says, "Here's the list of items, as well as some charcoal and parchment for the frottage."
I don't think that is quite right to research spells (due to quill) but had to try considering Ink cannot be located.
It does perhaps give a hint as to what we would we may need, parchment.
I bought a single point in Spell Research from the Wizard area in Sageside (unable to purchase more). I have tried a bunch of different combinations and items. Quill, parchment, Regrowth page, reagent that might work as some form of ...catalyst like a Powdered Tangle Vine and Eth-Ur Arboreal page, for example.
