Hi all! Earsnot level 36 Goblin shaman here, I eat my toes every day and I love it!
This is a suggestion for how consume could truly become a killer class mechanic:
All-consuming Consume suggested Shaman class mechanic
Keep the Current consume with 45 seconds cooldown as the only consume but add a twist for the power-hungry shamans that dare to make a dangerous deal with the spirits!
Casting Consume gives a staged stacking buff/debuff that does the following:
- Reduces cast time of consume by x seconds (0,4,8,12,16,24,28,32)
- Reduces max hp (not current hp) of the shaman after losing hp from consume by a stacking % (0,10,20,30,40,45,50,55)
- Increase threat gained by the shaman by a stacking % (0,5,10,15,20,25,30,35)
- Each stage of the buff lasts 45 seconds, not consuming for 45 seconds makes the buff go down one stage or get removed if already at stage 0.
- As the Shaman enters the final stage of the all-consuming consume the spirits appear and kills him/her!
Example:
Stage 0: Consume 45 seconds cast time
Stage 1: Consume 41 seconds cast time, 10% less max hp, 5% increased threat
Stage 2: Consume 37 seconds cast time, 20% less max hp, 10% increased threat
With this suggested mechanic for consume the Shaman can choose to play it safe and only use consume every 45 seconds or gradually work him/herself into a shamanistic frenzy getting more and more mana in exchange for a debuff that gets more dangerous the greedier the shaman is until …..death!
Of course, the amount of mana gained over time and the negative part of the buff might need to be adjusted one way or the other.
P.S: the new consuming pact is very nice imho! Just thought it might be made even more interesting!
