Can anyone tell us anything more about Bend Gravity (35)?

Description says:

Bend gravity around yourself, slowing your descent for 3 seconds.

It's this totally random tiny utility (on a class that gets very very little) at a pretty high level. But I've never seen anyone bring it up (not a single hit when I searched the Discord for a mention of it), nor did the Deep Dive mention it.

For those that have managed to get high enough level to use it: Is it instant-cast? Can you use it in mid-air to save from fall damage? Can it allow you to take some significant shortcuts or drift over something no other class can manage? I'd love to hear any experiences with it or use cases for it since it is, I believe, the only non-combat utility ability Spellblades have besides Gate at 51, and something I believe no other class gets anything similar.

I used it once jumping out of elf town and it seemed I died mid air when I cast it. I never tried it again.

Used it a few times, you can cast it in mid air, its either instant or close to. one of the times i died but was maybe a little over zealous jumping off of a EW elevator. haven't really tested the actual effectiveness of it

Can you use it to jump over a wide gap? It says it slows the descend not the x movement

no you fall at the same speed, it just negates some fall damage

BobWendal Oh really??? Lame! Inaccurate spell description then... Sounds like same as the Monk ability.

BobWendal Can you check this again now that they actually implemented slower falling speed as a Bard song? I'm wondering if that new feature now applies to this spell as well.

Taron It does slow falling now, tested it jumping off the wizard tower, took 307 damage without and 2 damage with.

BobWendal Awesome! And can you jump off and then insta-cast it while falling if needed? So like trigger it just a bit before hitting the ground rather than needing to use it before you jump in the first place, thus allowing very far falls?

Taron It has a .5s cast time and only lasts 2 seconds, you really want to make sure its up when you hit the ground or you will probably die. so best to cast mid air

BobWendal So it has a cast time instead of being instant, but it still lets you cast it mid-air? Interesting, I thought only insta-cast abilities could be used while falling.

Taron Same mechanics as a wizard blink. Some spells say they can be cast while moving.
