Why does bard need an area detaunt?
Why is Mez now a Wind tagged song if it does not benefit from instrument mod to scale duration? e.g. letting a bard focus on their mezzing strength with an equiped wind insturment in lieu of their buff power if content demands and bring them closer to the gulf of enchanter's cc capacity. if scaling this on instrument mod too high then at least consider adding say a flat +6 second mez duration if wind equip taking base mez from 18s to 24s etc
Can we not combine the resist songs. I will never care to use them (or even buy them probably). alongside the 35-60m buffs yet to see this to be relevant for the time/resource cost to bother with these across the board and the player facing impact is very minimal in terms of motivation.
Or the 20% resist silence niche song. what content even has silence and 20% resist is nothing for the action economy cost. maybe consider also adding to this song an effect that increases casting concentration or something?
the beats +stat group damage is just not very intersting versus say something that procced a group magic damage add on hits/spells etc (think a group version of monk sun effect etc). it feels like any "damage increase" is very limited to the bard and essentially hard to justify from song action ecnomy / cooldown casting flows versus effects that bring up the group damage more generally.
the absorb song is both very late to arrive and too small values even with instrument mods. i can only contextually assume this is the only song that scales from wind and won't justify that equip switch byself.
same for the buff effects on the melee power just for bard.
the base indoor speed values are tiny.
combined hp/regen song is not in vendor to preivew.
very obviously from the single hp/mana songs, the base values were reduced to the new 50% instrument baseline so no real ground made there beyond increasing lute equipped dominance effects.
we did not really gain any power here, just more punishing opportunity cost of values if you don't have the "right" instrument out.
it would be nice if shouts did not trigger shared 60-90s cooldown for the strength of what they do, it is hard to justify even memming one let alone multiple ones with this level of cooldown.
will you fix the snare/slow song to work on named to just apply the attack slow? considered increasing it's x4 target cap too, which gets very messy in terms of what it selects when more than 4 targets.
lull is not addressed at all in deep dive article. it appears to still allow for multiple targets at 30 meter range against song duration, does that mean it is intentional that for bard's pulling power their are the "premier" luller, or was it just forgotten about entirely as the deep dive? does CHA help lull/mez resists?
what is the cooldown on Crescendo? does it's 50% instrument bonus for it's 30 second duration stack with a base instrument of 50% for 50%+50% = 100%? highest instrument bonus seen so far is 95% for reference, would that then be 95+50 = 145%. outside of running away with a boosted movement speed, hard to see the "impactful" value here.
other note: we can charm beasts + LIVING humanoids, can confirm we cannot charm undead humanoids if people were wondering.
is the casting haste song a primary or secondary effect for purposes of stacking with wizard etc? have you considered combing it with secondary attack speed haste. it will never get used. or give another rider effect like small resource cost decrease or casting concentration improvement etc
have you considered higher levels of secondary effects of either haste that scale beyond static 10% values.
in general what benefit does a bard get from leveling up their various instrument skills to 100/100 or whatever? does that scale in impacts of effects?
what happened to
Social and non-combat songs, giving the Bard room to contribute outside of fights
(i don't really count the safe fall from my knowledge of testing the impact of that ability previously)
one of my fav parts of the current bard is acting as a hermes like pshypomp spirit guide for dead people to find lost bodies with locate corpse, speed, invis utility etc. more of that stuff please
will there be any itemisation adjustments for that bards can actually find any instruments in the world beyond a very small selection of niche spots? or have them crafted?
ultimately the bard comes down to it's action economy cap and mem decisions and still feels like some of these effects just need to be more interesting to become part of your playstyle even in very niche conditons
