Enchanter Deep Dive discussion

rabbi There is luckily quite a lot of wiggle room between pre-nerf and nerfed damage where they can decide to put the balance at.

rabbi if they are farming out cc to everyone else maybe dps will be our way. i have no idea where they are goin with these changes. i thought after this charm nerf they would have focused on hey do cc enchanters...but its simply not required for 90% of the game...so i am just waiting to see what the final vision actually is.

kridak i thought after this charm nerf they would have focused on hey do cc enchanters...but its simply not required for 90% of the game.

Yeah, it's a double-edged problem. One is the lack of requirement for CC, the second is the fact that almost every class in the game has some form of CC tool, whether its single-target mez/sap, lull, root, snare, stun, etc. They even gave a TANK class the same mez and AOE stun as enchanters.

kridak

Fell ya the tank mez and stun is funny...like why bring ench...oh ya...mana regen and haste...ta da...and they have plate lol...who knows maybe by the time im max level the class will feel better. they have a long road ahead of figuring out class roles thats pretty obvious. will say the ranger looks fun as heck now.

navyrob

ok just ignore the fact they gave us a tank pet... /perplex

I am still gonna play ench. If there are level gaps with charm - I'm confident that will be addressed. They still are one of the only hard cc classes in the game. People are saying - break camp then afk - I don't see how that could be true. It seems like your puller will generally be bringing multiple mobs back due to intentional lull restrictions - unless you have a really good monk. Even then you will periodically have roamers, badly timed repops, etc. Charm can be used a secondary, short term cc and moderate dps boost (more akin to the bard charm) rather than a full time mega dps boost. Look - I loved ench in EQ - being able to solo some of the hardest camps, being able to duo fungi king or seb crypt - but - it is kinda overpowered to be frank and i think even with the changes the kit still holds up really strong - they still have clarity for goodness sake - a buff. everyone, wants

Chuddy Everyone has CC in this game, including Inq with the bread and butter 1min mez and aoe stun and Bard singing. So many classes can root and snare, lull, sap, and off tank. As well as multiple classes having their own self buff mana regen, Inq's group mana return, Bard song, Ele water pet/mana stones, and necro mana feeds. Self only Wizard Evocation, Shaman canni, etc etc.

And Shaman, Inq, Bard all have haste. And now Enc has a 30s cooldown on transfering mana, artificially throttling player choice in critical moments. The Enchanter is becoming less shiny.
