Fell I think bringing 3 or 4 classes that have some amount of cc abilties should be able to somewhat replace the cc that enchanter brings. Its a tradeoff. If you bring an Enchanter you have better "OH SHIT" moment cc, and better buffs and utility along with decent dps. (The charm pet still does damage, don't lie to yourselves. Plus Enchanter still does some damage on its own)
When you bring an Enchanter you get more on demand CC for when things go south, and you don't need to worry about picking multiple classes to fill the CC niche. (because you WOULD need to pick at least 3 classes together to bring the sheer amount and potency of cc that the Enchanter brings).
I think thats fine. This game is give and take, you need to make choices on party composition. I for one will always want an enchanter in my party if I can find one. If not I'll take an Inquisitor offtank or a bard, and hope one of the healers and one of the DPS have some cc, but the Enchanter will still be very valuable with its buffs and charm and cc suite.
It has a clear identity of the best/most CC in the game all on one toon, leaving the party to fill out the rest of the group without worrying about CC classes. You also bring buffs and debuffs. The crying about the class seems absurd.
