Never been the first post on a forum before, this is kinda neat! I'll use this opportunity to speak my boldest piece: Alchemy needs a retooling.

Stats are great, everyone loves them, but for the inventory they take, the materials they require, and the price people want for their time investment, they aren't products that move well, if at all, in the game's economy. The best potions that sell, as well as have the 'fun' that the trade provides, are all an effect of some kind and Alchemy really needs to lean into this to make the trade more attractable, profitable, and desirable.

Alchemy should (just imo, flame away) remove stat potions. As said above, they're cool, but who cares. To make the trade really shine, I believe alchemy should provide the near-equivalent of class buffs across the board. The trade could be a minor fill in for a class you may not have in your group, or help a class solo a bit more effectively, etc and provide a unique usefulness in the field where other trades are of the 'in-town' type.

We already have damage shield potions, the ever-elusive SoW potions, and invisibility potions both for live and dead, it isn't hard to create a litany of spell buff potions that can give varying levels of power as you skill up for all other class buffs in the game, without being a complete replacement for the class itself. You can go the bandage route and limit potion use to level requirement too in order to keep potion markets stable and un-exploitable. I see a huge market and usefulness for the following:

Druid style AC buff potions for hardening your skin
Shaman / Druid Regeneration potions such as potions of mending
Various class resistance potions
Cleric HP buff potions such as potions of confidence, vigor, etc.
Enchanter potions for haste and mana regen, which could also be secondary haste
Proc potions that chance on melee to 'fire breath' or 'acid breath'
A 'still life' feign death potion, still takes time to drink, but if you don't have agro it's an escape!
A short term 'faction' potion
Essence potions that when drunk teleport you to a specific zone, or perhaps gate (not a huge fan of the gate part, pure casters need something fun all theirs but I feel it's something that's coming anyway)
Temporary skill potions such as a swimming potion that gives +25 or 50 swim for 10 minutes
Potions of Infra / Ultravision
Polymorph potions that change you into an animal

I could go on, but I think you see the point. This would allow Alchemy to have a brilliant niche in a very popularized world of the three other core trades: Blacksmithing, Leatherworking, Tailoring. The difference here being our products are still one-and-done and do not have the potential and power to permanently alter markets as the game becomes flooded with them (50s to 8s Backpacks, anyone?)

Beyond my other personal desire of players being limited to a primary 'crafting' trade and limiting skill gain in others to 50 to increase demand and create renown/reputation, I think this would help bring Alchemy to the forefront of popular trades and create a lasting market for them at all levels throughout the game's growth and player's level and power. I work for free Niche Worlds, if you like my ideas 😃
