Let's start off with some information:

This is suppose to be one of the reasons to do this tradeskill, while the reward is nice the process of getting there isn't.
There is no tier 1 Bank crate with regular wood
The time spent gathering and crafting the items in this combine in this tradeskill are off the charts compared to others due to amount of materials and sub-combines
Requires specialized items not regularly farmed or for sale (fish and specialized wood)

So that Said let's discuss 1x Fine Wood Bank Box (15 slots)
The cost to make one is:

2x Copper Nails (6x copper bars each)
6x Fine Wood Panel
1x Fine Wood Frame

Sounds pretty easy? Well let's start talking what it takes to make a Panel
1x Fine Wood Panel = 6x Fine Wood Boards, 1x Clear Wood Finish (We will talk about Wood Finish later)
1x Fine Wood Board = 2x Fine Wood.

So for 1x Fine Wood Panel you need 12 Fine Wood, but you need 6 of these so 72 wood. (And 6 wood finish)

For the wood frame you need:
4x Fine Wood Board (2x Fine Wood each)
4x Bronze Bracket (8x Bronze bar each)

So it takes 80x Fine Wood or 4 stacks to make the. Well the problem is where it comes to wood finish.

So Let's talk about making wood finish (which requires Alchemy)
Wood finish requires Fish oil which requires 5 fish of the appropriate type to make. In the case of Clear Wood Finish this is Keeper's Bight docks area. We need an odd number so we need 10 fish, which is 10 minutes of fishing to attain.
Then we need 6 resin and 1 oil per finish. Let's just assume you have a stock of readily available resin.

So to make the finish it takes 10 minutes of raw gather time (assuming 100% success at fishing), as the recent fish changes cap you at 1 fish per minute. Then to make the sub-combines you have 1 combine per second for 8 combines. Keep in mind you must do this combine at a 10 ingredient cauldron and have the skill already.

So 10 minutes 8 seconds. Gathering 80 wood (assuming every strike yielded wood), 80 more seconds. 40 seconds and change to make boards. 6 seconds to make panels, 1 second to make a frame, 1 second to make a box. Plus fiddling with the ui during all of this let's say you are a gigachad and spend only 30 seconds selecting recipes, buying misc items like resin and vials. Add in time to make copper, and bronze bars and this recipe easily takes 15 minutes of raw gathering and combine time to make ONE (not counting travel time between nodes). making 2, 3, or 4 or some number greater doesn't get all that much more efficient. Also add in the fact that Night Harbor often is very laggy with tradeskills and your 1 second to combine quickly turns into 3 or 4 seconds, you are looking at 20 minutes of time watching a progress bar.

My point here is that no other tradeskill has times this absurd for combines. The sub-combines and gathering are nowhere near this egregious for steel anything.

My suggestion is to make it so there is a method to gather more wood at a time or reduce the cost of the boards going in. This tradeskill is such a high time commitment that I don't think anyone that hasn't actually tried to do it with the way the current state of tradeskills are, can even fathom how bad of an experience this is.

The only reason I am even bothering with the skill is we are getting patch notes about it, but there are not many people doing the skill. So who is this skill for? Presumably its so that you can interact with the real estate system. Why would anyone even go beyond tier 1 in this skill? There are so many problems with this skill that I haven't even touched on. Please for the love of god reach out and let's discuss it off thread.
