My review after playing for ₄₈ hours, I've tried a gnome necromancer to level 4 but played mainly a wood elf bard till level 11. My main goal was to figure out what this game offers, and how it will feel to play hundreds of hours. While levelling I read the forum, wikis, discord chats, and other sources I could find to gain as much information as possible.

Overall great experience, funny and friendly people, very helpful in OOC, clerics who rez you, and bards helping you to locate corpses. But a few times there were some strange things I simply don't understand, both in the game or reactions from other players. But that adds to the charm I guess. Now what says more about the playability of a game then pointing out annoying things? So instead of taking this as a list of complaints, I hope the devs read this as constructive feedback:

There is no limit to the amount of gathering and crafting skills a character can have. Which is completly contradictory to the other game mechanics as you can be only one class with a limited amount of weapon & combat skills. The overarching goal seems to be cooperation in this game, but for G&C it boils down to having money. If you want people to cooperate on G&C, they need to be limited and have licenses. G&C without a license gives you negative faction. Players make a shop that function as middleman, they do "quality control and grading", and if you buy "uncertified" goods it can randomly be a dud and you lose your money, which should incentivise buying from middleman and not NPC's.
Autoattacking should not be possible on friendly targets. Nobody would ever just attack a friendly target. The guards don't accidently attack us right? Nobody is perfect. You hit a button you shouldn't, the cat walked on your keyboard, whatever. This is not a fun mechanic. If you want it so you can purposefully attack a friendly target, make a specific command for it.
Seriously, why is there no /autosplit for loot? It is friction for drama-sake; and requires OOC exceptional emotional intelligence and communication skills to manage. If anything will scare away new players, this is it.
Rare or named mobs should be revealed AFTER attacking the normal variant. This way they can't be tracked, and they can't be camped. Everyone will have an equal chance of experiencing the cool parts of the game. e.g. attacking any Fellstone Shaman might reveal he is Vorkuul Blighteye once he's down to 90%. You can even add lore via the MUD: While fighting you realize this shaman is exceptionally strong, he must be the fabled Vorkuul Blighteye. Or maybe he just reveals his name by saying something during battle.
Nameplates should have the consider color automatically, seeing is knowing. My character should know if something is dangerous from a glance, not a careful consideration. Spawns and mobs sneaking up on you is already a huge threat. Con could add more information though like what fighting style (melee, ranged), or maybe even what types of spells it will use, or weapons it has. I feel like this part is just copy pasted without knowing why it was made that way originally.
Targetting is simply bugged, clicking on the mob or the name is sometimes not working. Same with tab, overall it is just clunky. Please review the mechanics internally.
Highlight your current target in any other way than flashing the name. Maybe an outline, or different background plate on the name, or a big arrow. Make it optional. Targetting is an accessibility issue and has nothing to do with QoL. As an counterexample, that it takes time rearranging your ability bar can be explained lorewise that it's hard to suddenly remember your new cutlery layout in a drawer.
NODROP should be able to be traded within the current group within x-minutes, mistakes happen.
Chatlogs should be able to be stored locally.
Make guilds function as tutorials. As an incentive give them the ability to gain money/prestige, or give the "coach" xp; when they help a new account (not alts! aka only first char per account counts) level to 5 or gain a G&C skill of 25. This saves you from actually making tutorials.
