Updated Necro Wishlist

The direction of the new class description sounds great! Particularly interested in more durable pet options and additional, "Resource tap and transfer abilities."

Gameplay

DPS Should be achieved through pets/minions and DoTs rather than any consistent direct damage.

Our spells are too expensive. DoTs Should be low cost, long duration (60s minimum) spells that allow sufficient time and mana between casts for us to make use of our utility kit.

Flexible pet options to fit into this model and allow for different playstyle choices.

E.g.

Low damage, durable tank pets capable of holding aggro while our DoTs tick and we make use of our debuffs and heals.
Less durable, high DPS pets (including ranged pets?) that encourage use of CC and kiting.
Support pet options to fill gaps in small groups.

Anti-Undead

Prefer any anti-undead effects to be baked into existing spells rather than standalone spell lines. Necro spell slots are already very limited. Simply make our existing DPS lines more powerful against the undead.

E.g.

Swirling Shadows line slows undead in addition to its normal effects.
Remove the Repel the Dead line and make our Life Tap line refund 50% of its mana cost when used on undead targets.

Stats

Health (STA) and mana (INT) should feel like resources of similar value. With that in mind:

Remove CHA entirely as a Necro stat and replace with STA.
More HP per STA.
Pet DPS scaling via STA (see: Bloodgorge.)

Utility

Lich rank distribution is top heavy with large gaps early-mid game. Change Lich to a form toggle (stance) that scales linearly with levels or tweak the ranks and distribute them more evenly. E.g.

4 (+4), 12 (+8), 20 (+12), 28 (+16), 36 (+20), 44 (+25), 52 (+30), 60 (+35).

Lich Spirit is too similar to Lich. Bake its MP6 into existing Lich line and repurpose Lich Spirit to something more flavorful.
More ranks of HP/MP transfers with increasing efficiency.
Remove MP cost of HP transfers. Spells should cost either HP or MP, not both.
Aspect of Vampirism repurposed to something useful.
Add a spell interrupt. Preferably via a new pet skill (Kick!)
Add a Mind Wrack-like spell line.
Generally more abilities that consume health as a resource.
Rename the Lifestone line to something like "Blood Well" with a 15m cooldown. Creates a Blood Well for 60s. Each group member can interact with the Blood Well once to receive a Bloodstone.
Replace Fear the Dead with Screaming Terror.

DPS

All DoTs should cause their first tick of damage on application.
Increase the duration of DoTs, reduce their mana cost and cast time. DoTs Should be more efficient than direct damage spells and be able to be applied quickly at the beginning of a pull so that half the mobs health bar isn't already gone by the time the first tick occurs.
Replace generic disease and poison lines with DoT lines that have useful secondary effects (debuffs, scaling damage) appropriate to the, "corruption and decay" theme. Necro DoTs weakening enemies would provide group value even if they don't last their full duration.
Separate the Shadows line DoT from its snare effect so that the damage still applies even on snare immune mobs.
Pet-based controlled "burst" rather than any direct damage spells.

E.g.

Pet ability
Bloodgorge
Cooldown: 20s
Drains X (scaling) player health to enrage your pets, increasing damage and attack speed by X (scaling) for 15s.

This would act as our "nuke."

Pets

Pet scales with player stats or a complete pet UI with stats, inventory and lootable corpse so that we can scale our pets via gear.
All pets summon at the players level by default. Underleveled pets feel bad. Especially if intended to act as a capable tank. Would also ensure that collectable pets remain relevant.
Would prefer a minion system over short duration swarms (think DAoC's Bonedancer.) Having access to different minion combinations can be fun and flavorful if done well. Swarms just feel like a DoT with extra steps. If swarms are the only option, I'd rather skip them and distribute their DPS budget into our primary pets and DoTs.
Pet movement speed should automatically increase to match the players when buffed (SoW, etc.)
Each pet should have appropriate stats and skills designed for its intended role.
More complete pet skill bars. Pets feel very barebones with only one skill +Provoke per bar.
Replace Provoke with Taunt on tank pets.
Replace Provoke with a Detaunt (threat reduction) on non-tank pets.
