Monk Rework DPS — Corrected Numbers (Data Collection Bugs Fixed)
Update to the earlier DPS thread. Discovered this when testing in a duo setting instead of solo. My tracking script had two bugs: it was silently dropping a chunk of damage lines (up to 142% understated on some sessions), and it was miscounting defensive dodges as your own attack misses. Both are fixed now, and I've gone back through the whole dataset to correct for them. Numbers below are ranges, not points — the original logs weren't timestamped per line, so when a recovered damage line showed up more than once, there was no way to tell whether that was a genuine repeated hit or the same one counted twice. Treat the spread as honest uncertainty from that gap, not sloppiness.
Sun Stance
Combo DPS
Grudgehaft 84.5 – 86.5
Hadir's/Hadir's (192 STR/68 DEX) 80.8 – 84.4
Hadir's/Hadir's (186 STR/95 DEX) 79.9 – 92.8
Hadir's MH / Mother's Sorrow OH 73.9 – 84.5
Hadir's/Hadir's (mixed HF+CS) 73.6 – 75.2
Mother's Sorrow MH / Hadir's OH 71.9 – 80.7
Mother's Sorrow MH / Savage Club OH 60.8 – 63.0
Savage Club MH / Hadir's OH 60.3 – 63.2
Wind Stance
Combo DPS
Grudgehaft 84.8 – 85.5
Hadir's/Hadir's 66.5 – 77.7
Mother's Sorrow MH / Hadir's OH 65.0 – 74.9
Hadir's MH / Mother's Sorrow OH 62.2 – 74.7
Savage Club MH / Hadir's OH 53.4 – 60.8
Biggest change from the original report: Wind isn't nearly as bad as we thought. Grudgehaft posts essentially identical numbers in both stances (no real penalty at all), and the worst-looking Wind result in the old data turned out to be the single most under-counted session in the whole set. Top-of-table ranking between Grudgehaft and the best Hadir's/Hadir's build is still genuinely unresolved — ranges overlap.
DEX: it's an attack-speed stat, not accuracy or power
Comparing two double-Hadir's Sun sessions, 95 DEX vs 68 DEX, same gear otherwise:
Swing rate: 0.89–1.06/s (95 DEX) vs 0.84–0.88/s (68 DEX) — ranges don't overlap, real and sizeable (10-20%)
Hit rate: 94.5–95.2% (95 DEX) vs 93.0–93.2% (68 DEX) — ranges don't overlap, real but small (1.5-2pt)
Avg damage/hit: flat, no measurable difference either way
DEX buys you more swings per second. It does a little for accuracy too, but it's a rounding error next to the swing-rate effect. It does nothing for per-hit damage.
Weapon rating vs. delay — Mother's Sorrow still looks off
Known values: Savage 15/2.4s, Mother's Sorrow 23/3.5s, Grudgehaft 38/4.8s, Hadir's 24/3.6s (extrapolated from the two 1H weapons — Grudgehaft's a 2H outlier, runs 20% more damage-efficient and doesn't belong on the same curve).
Despite sitting just one rating point below Hadir's, Mother's Sorrow's damage cap (103, confirmed — 15.5% of one full session landed exactly there) runs 52% above its own average hit. Hadir's own cap is only 13-15% above its average, on a higher rating. Mixed Hadir's/Mother's-Sorrow pairs also track almost dead-even with double-Hadir's in DPS, closer than a one-point rating gap should allow. Three independent signals, same direction — Mother's Sorrow is punching above its listed rating.
Prepatch comparison — rough guess only
Can't verify prepatch suffered the same data-collection bug (no way to check that data), so take this as an educated guess, not a confirmed number: best honest guess is the rework caused something like an 18-26% DPS drop for Hadir's/Mother's Sorrow combos. Could be smaller or larger than that — the uncertainty band is wide enough that I wouldn't rule either direction out.
