Oh, just figured it wouldn't be what they wanted, since it sorta shafts respawn rates. But if that's intended then hey, it's their game right, we all get to sit and wait.

I don’t like this type of behaviour from fellow bards. At lower level when you only have 1 dot you could probably justify pulling 5 - 6 mobs and keeping that dot running on all of them. If you’re pulling any more, they are just running after you waiting for you to kill the first 5 -6, instead of being available to other people in the zone to pull and kill.
After bards get their second dot, kiting 3 mobs is kinda optimal as you can have the 2 dots rolling on all of them with dots only dropping for few seconds.

In my opinion pulling more mobs then you can actively damage at once, especially with zones being as crowded as they are, is kinda an asshole move. Without an AoE damage song there should be no reason to pull huge groups of mobs

Swarm kiting more than you can feasibly twist always struck me as "Oh that's cool" until you think about it for more than 1 second. It's super disruptive to the zone, inefficient and greedy.

it should get the axe, like charm, its silly that some classes cant even solo a light blue but then they let bards troll the entire zone of mobs that full groups are trying to pull from, i wanna here the logic from devs why charm is too overpowered but swarm kiting is ok

Either they accidentally pulled too much or they don’t understand their abilities. A bard can keep 3 targets dot’d. so kiting 3-4 is all need. If you kite four then as one dies you can pull in another and keep one on deck.

Pulling more than that is greedy and adds unnecessary risk.

Metavahn Go do it then if its that good and easy. Bard is easily the most nerfed class in the game BST / Necro / Ele massively out perform every other class in the game why aren't you in their forums crying about them.

I'd be curious what the official PNP stance on this is, especially if you have far more mobs than those your dot will hit at once, and those mobs come from more than the one camp you can claim. It's also risky to others, as if the bard hasn't done significant damage to all of them, some will peel off if they see cast aggro from another player.

Fell I agree with Fell. I think we need a PNP clarification on this type of behavior. To me this sounds like zone disruption. This is not EQ Bard where they get AOE songs that allow them to damage 20+ mobs at once. I believe the devs intentionally gave bards single target dots only to prevent Bards from doing the type of swarm kiting that started this thread. If bards are now pulling mobs well over the limit that they can actually damage, then it feels like disruption to me. Only NWC can clarify though.

Doozle90 so do we pull 5 and single dot all of them or pull 5 and double dot two at a time? Who you gonna have police this? Don't you think time would be better spent on dupes etc right now than this shit? Is it shitty behavior yes. I tell bards all the time how dumb what they are doing is. However we just got a 40% effing percent nerf on our dots with not a peep in the patch notes. I will worry about this shit when the devs actually want to communicate what they are doing instead of stealth nerfing shit and letting us figure it out the hard way.

in cinder beetle cave i pulled 15-20
faster then running back and forth to pull 3s.

noone else was there so it didn't matter at all.

Show me one camp in game where bards will pull all your mobs. Bards are quite limited in what they can kite without getting charged, shot, casted on.

This is strange behavior. You can only double DoT 3 mobs at a time at most. You lose efficiency with any more mobs. I guess people just don't want to deal with pulling in between, but this really increases the risk of a mistake and dying, even setting aside the obvious element of 'this is not good thing to do since it impacts others around you'.

I hope this will be addressed in the PNP.

Maple No one else was there, and no one else will continue to be there because when someone checks the area to see if it would be good hunting they would see a bard running around with all the mobs and nothing left to hunt, not to mention needing to dodge out of the way of the swarm. It's not a good look.

I only ask because this has now significantly slowed down leveling because the bards have the mobs in a giant group being soloed. Luckily they will level so much faster than everyone else around them, that they'll leave in a couple days.

I'm just bummed one player gets to take all of the melee mobs of an area while we all wait. Doesn't seem like reasonable gameplay. I guess maybe we will have an answer once one bard runs into another trying to do it. It will only upset them once it happens to them.

In the meantime, if there are no rules against it, I should just make a bard and take the zone for myself for now. If ya can't beat em, join em.

One more question: If a bard has more than 3 mobs they are kiting, is it technically considered stealing if I take one of their mobs for myself? Or have they truly laid claim to all 20 they have? Where in between a quantity of 3 up to a quantity of 20 is this line drawn?

Bonkee nothing strange at all. if noone is at the camp i pull some mobs.

at tomb burrowers i was alone kiting my circles as a group came and asked nicely to share.
enough beetles there for everyone. i told em to pull of me if i ever had more then 3 and told em exactly where i gonna circle.

just try to get along without some useless PNP rules

Broheem I thought they said they were going to be "transparent" Guess that means they are invis nerfing just like how they are invis in all the forums replying to people's concerns. OF course, you can set through a 3 hour slog stream and MAYBE get an answer to something. I feel like almost every game Devs promise to keep us in the loop on all game changes and how they will actually communicate, but they never do.

Greywulf I wanna point out that as soon as someone mentions wanting a map or any quality of life features everyone jumps on them because "that's not how EQ was in 1999". Those same people then come here whining and complaining that bards can charm or kite and get charm and AoE DoTs nerfed/removed. I wish the developers wouldn't cave to the minority of impossible to please players. Bard is basically not fun anymore because we are being further nerfed.

Revreign Not sure if you are agreeing with me or not? I am with those who want some changes made. I could care less about what EQ 1999 does. I played EQ when it came out. I want MnM to be it's own game with it's own design and not copy paste what another game did just because some people want to relive their childhood fantasy. This game can be the same AND different at the same time. I myself am sick of the whiners crying to nerf this and that because it does not fall into their "Grouping" ideals.

Greywulf sorry I didn't actually mean to reply to you, but I agree with you. If they are going to be nerfing bard so hard that it's completely different than EQ bard then they might as well start adding some modern features like a map. I like that it's like EQ, but I wouldnt mind it also being it's own thing. If you are a bard it is currently not fun. Whiners have forced them to nerf bards into forced grouping but they also can't do much dps and their charm is trash. People are reporting that the patch also lowered the range of the DoT song so you basically can't kite anymore without being close enough to be hit by the enemy. Hopefully that was a big and not another intended nerf.
