Camp Priority

I think some consideration should be placed on a priority system for camps. What I mean is this: if a player or group claimed a camp, but cannot gain experience for said camp, and an appropriately-leveled group arrives attempting to take said camp, the appropriately-leveled group should get priority.

I have no problem with higher-levels farming, at all. But I have been seeing higher-levels farming for items to twink, sell, or disenchant and lower-levels missing out on potential camps because of this.

I think something will eventually need to be done about higher level players farming low level content.

Spending hours forming a group and traveling to [insert location] only to find every named spawn being farmed by 60s is a pretty discouraging new player experience.

Not sure what the best solution is but it does seem like it's destined to be an ongoing problem.

I think a simple fix is just adding more options for gearing. I've noticed people just avoid WB now, the gear is there sure.. But since loot only drops from 5 possible spawns (Or slightly more) mobs.. Thats the amount of groups or solo players that can take it. If you add more ways to obtain gear, it stops them pooling in one location.

You can add quests/profs with less impressive gear, doesn't need to be the best of the best.

Instead of prohibiting any behavior just make early-mid game items more widely available.

Wait til you are those higher levels, especially when you solo. Then come back at me. If im soloing whether getting xp or not, and I've been farming a spot for hours and not one drop appears that I need , and I have to give up the camp cause an "appropriate" level arises? It's bs when people say it's not for loot it's for leveling, there are plenty of spots to go level on without needing any drops. Is it good sure, but not fair if I have to give something up cause it's open.

Yeah, the rules probably won't change in this respect... level doesn't matter when the question is the rights to a camp, kind of irrelevant...

Tpoon Adding more camps for gear will come with.... Releasing EA and the game lol. We need to keep that in mind. Right now with limited content, people want to play alts, and the gear pool is very limited.

Nazgrimn - No, because it's entirely fair for a higher-level to farm a lower-level area IF that area is not occupied. It's actually good for the game because some lower-level people may need help or some such thing and that higher-level happens to be around. This is a social issue, not a mechanic issue.

Nazgrimn This wouldn't go over well for numerous reasons. Again for those that solo, and lets say your suggestion was put in place, once I hit 60 anything under 50 is untouchable? That's wild. What if i need cloth, wool, cotton, or linen i have to buy instead of farm it? The game will die extremely fast. Best outcome is maybe polite asking, or explain and talk it out.

Now before I say this, not going to say you're doing it, but in general I had way more negative interactions then positive. Here we're some of the laughable excuses...

your 28 go do 28 stuff. This cane from someone "camping" 3 named in WB and running back in time for the spawn but wasnt in room.
1 group split in 2 for 2 named and when called out. "And I don't care what you need or ask for" great interaction there. Mind you these are from "reputable guilds"
I was camping the named on ghoul oasis in SD. A lone low level starts pulling ghouls from the back of the camp. When asked to stop that I was camping the spot. "You shouldn't be here, I get xp you don't. OK want to play that way touch my mobs and ill report" proceeded to claim my camp " OH want to play big stick takes little stick ok" and left never to be seen again though I still get rude gestures from their guild

Yeah entitlement doesn't work with me and im strong willed , hate me for it. shrug

Waffle_Goblin I actually agree with this. I don't think it should be limited but then part of me thinks it might be better for the economy of the game. I don't know, I see both sides.

Wait until some out-of-game websites start selling in-game items for money. The issue of camping will become ten times worse.

Because it will happen and the developers need to be ready for this.

We saw this back in the day. Especially on Firiona Vie. Whole guilds camping mobs and reselling loot for money.

This may actually be worse in MnM because the population is older, has less time and more income.

Yes, I hope at least it will be part of the Play Nice policy that you don't camp a spot that doesn't give you XP. I traveled with my group all the way to Blacktide Bay from Night Harbour just to see high level monk ogres (yes more than one) camping each named spot we checked. It was disheartening.

I'd understand if another group is killing for XP and loot. But seeing every named spot camped by some high level sitting on their butt not killing anything else is sad...

Nazgrimn Yeah but some NPCs drop quest items and you cannot block quest progress and if you allow nameds to still drop the quest item for the high level player they will still camp the named for the quest item anyway (like the Rogue class quest in Wyrmsbane killing Fiona). Almost every named I know is linked with a quest. Some high level guy do have the reason to come and kill it because he/she missed doing that part of the quest.

Though I do love the idea.

Adding more ways to get gear is the best fix. If you're level 20 and have no gear with stats, your only option right now is to camp low level named. Like sure crafting you can get a piece or two, then some from JC but the rest require camping.

It's not a player issue, it's a current game issue. (I'm sure it'll be fixed in due time with more quests and profession revamps)

Yeah, higher levels name camping in a much lower area is annoying at minimum. At least balance it where the rare drop has a chance to drop from normal mobs in the area with a lesser chance or make the named mob drops untradable and unique to reduce the demand by a huge chunk.
