I find the changes to the names of the spells and the icons used to be extremely confusing. Many of the spells have a tan circle with a humanoid inside with no distinction as to whether it's a buff or a debuff. For example, haste and slow previously used the same icon, but haste was blue and slow was orange; easily understood. Now, haste looks a lot like a caduceus (staff of medicine) and slow looks like a bunch of skulls with a green sword. I could get used to the new icons, except they are very hard to distinguish visually on the spell bar where they get scaled down in size compared to the spellbook.
As if the icons weren't already over-complicated, the changes to the spell names complement the "busy" nature of the spell icons. Omen of Lethargy, Omen of Enfeeblement, Omen of Susceptability...those spell gems are running out of room with an already tiny 7 point font (on a spell bar at 1.0 scale). Why does "Blind" not get the same treatment as the long-winded spell names like Minor Communion of Regeneration? Maybe there should be a rename to "Pact of Grandiloquently Temporary Loss of Sight"?
Add in that most of the spells icons are just varying hues of the green/brown scale and the spell bar becomes no long comprehensible, especially in combat when you need to double-check which spell you intend to cast. These spells with a tan circle and a dark humanoid figure are in particular difficult to distinguish from one another: (Shrink, Omen of Enfeeblement, Ancestral Wisdom, Consume, and Invisibility versus Undead). Soulbind is close to making the list, but since it has a blue background instead of a tan one, I find it very easy to distinguish. Also, I'm not a fan of the sky blue color on Berserker Spirit. It doesn't stand out nearly enough from the other tan icons.
