This rework slaps, i found nothing offensive. Just better. Pet chaining and Aggro camping might be slightly OP.. it's extremely effcient and easy to throw earth pets at yellow cons, indefinately. 30 mana for a level 14 earth pet with like 500+ HP.. cost to heal it would be like 400 mana, summon new one for 30, makes that a no brainer. I just hit them with DS and send them in.. (haste is too expensive for this strategy, skip)
Send a DS'ed Earth pet, med, cast companion strike every 12 seconds or so (get your 2 full ticks, cast strike in between, so you never stop medding). When the earth pet gets down to about 10%, start casting another one, hit "Dismiss" on pet window, wait till 9.5 seconds and hit "ok" box. you dimiss your pet half a second before the new one pops out. Mob stays rooted, DS new pet, bandage him (he will lose hp immediately, when he cast earth buff on himself). send it in, rince and repeat forever.
Only Gotcha is reagent cost is a bit high for EA/Launch, but neglible if twinking, still doable for a few levels, like if you hit a rough spot, 13-16 for example.
Also, the earth pet can easily tank 2 yellow cons for 30+ seconds without much effort. So this makes Aggro camping adds trivial. Even if your pets' almost dead.. chain another one, aggro camp.. when you come back your primary target will still be rooted and the add will run off. And yes, same strategy can be used to "Split" camps.
I played Necro to 12 and Ele to 14 over the past week. I was surprised how much easier Ele is in this level range, it's not close, it's way faster, and stronger. I thought necro would have taken it but not really, Bandages are OP as fuck, and ele pets are way way tankier.
Not only that, with how practical and easy it is to aggro camp, alot of the utility of FD, fear, root, is nullified. Also, ele are better at tight quarter combat, with no need to kite, as pet just straight up tanks shit and is easy to replace at a moments notice. Obviously we are talking the 1-16 game here.. it won't stay that way forever, necros get Root at 20, which may shift things back in their favor.
Edit: I have not reached level 16 yet, so have no experience with Empowerment buff. This may change pet chaining to not be needed, but it's still quite potent in the 12-16 range. For example, killing yellow con cinder beetles at level 14. Odds are good this gets nerfed unless it was intended, it's an old EQ1 strategy, all they have to do to kill it is not allow you to dismiss a pet while casting.
