Fell Let's look at the numbers for a second. Classic EverQuest ran from March 1999 until Kunark launched in April 2000, so roughly one year. That's about 8,760 hours even if you never logged off once. 45,000 hours would mean more than five years of nonstop play with no sleep and no breaks, all squeezed into that single year. Even boxing several enchanters at once doesn't make that add up. PLUS you had the TLP. And the classic phase on a TLP only lasts a few months, so the TLP servers don't close that gap either.
So either those hours include a lot more than classic (live servers, later expansions, TLP time), or the number is simply off. Either way, when the one hard fact backing up an argument doesn't hold up, it's hard to take the rest of it at face value.
As for Charm: It was strong in classic EQ, and anyone who played an Enchanter in 1999/2000 knows that. Not everyone used it, some did and some didn't, but claiming that Charm wasn't the Enchanter's main soloing tool back then just doesn't match what the class looked like at the time.
