RogerDabbit If that leveling speed requires this many things to go right (no competition, statics and months of beta pre-planning), then is that really an issue?
But it doesn't require all that. I hit 20 in some 25 hours -- about 4-5 of which was spent on mining and lumberjacking, not exping. And that was with no static and tons of competition for camps ... the beta experience helped a bit, but not that much at all.
Jesica i dont think it should take a month+ to get to level 60. being max level doesnt really do anything for you if youre not committed to doing end game raid content with a guild.
But there isn't any real end game content now. Which means -- what are you going to do at 60? Some players will quit, some will play twinks, others will invade lower level camps and solo camp named to sell loot. Ok fine-- but all of that is really an admission you ran out of content in just one month's time.
Honestly, even a hardcore player should take a good 3 months to max level, and a casual player 2-3X times that. If you intend to play the game for 9+ months, then you should have 9+ months of new challenges to face, and a continued ability to progress your character.
Denerik The people at these high levels are playing 18ish hour days in static groups, following the leveling path they perfected and memorized from alpha and beta.
There's no magic "leveling path" in this game. All the camps of a given level of mob are nearly identical in terms of how much exp they give per hour. And while some of those players are doing 12, even 18 hour days, the issue is that not just them, but ANYONE can get to level 40 in just 60-odd hours of leveling. That is TOO FAST.
