Taron Im not trying to insult the devs, there you go again saying stuff that isnt true. I actually have provided in game feedback multiple times now on how good the devs are, especially on world design( general world design and new deep zones are amazing).
"I don't like every aspect of this game's design either" Again, saying stuff that isnt true. As Ive said before the main thing I dont like is this awful mana regen, everything else pretty much I like.
What Im doing is pointing out awful game design for this one thing horrible mana regen causing forced sitting, not insulting people. And that is 100% true that mana regen is an issue when you have to sit this much, regardless of if you agree or not. Forcing people to sit for extended periods at a time, constantly, taking up about 1/2 of your gaming time if you have a blue bar...is not a good design. Again, it wasnt good in EQ1, its not good in MnM, or any other game that forces mana classes to sit that long, repeatedly, throughout the gaming session. And no other classes dont have to sit even longer, you just use bind wound. Level it up as you level your character, and you can be right back in the fight no problem. But mana users are stuck sitting, because that blue bar means you get punished for some unknown ridiculous reason.
You pro-sitters seem to have some strange cult-like belief, that you must sit to socialize. Let me explain something to you, that isnt true. And it hasnt been true since the very start of online gaming. People can multitask, and have been multitasking since humans have been on earth. This isnt the dawn of online gaming, its 2026 and online gaming has been around a very long time now. Even way back in the early days people were multitasking while gaming. Eating, drinking, and yes socializing WHILE fighting, exploring, killing, looting, etc. Why do you pro-sitters think there is some magic unwritten law that you must be forced to sit, in order to socialize? Insanity. Like I said multiple times grab a guild and you will socialize plenty. I will give an example that just happened recently.
On my 13 druid halfling, I met up with some great players. I joined one of their guilds. In the deep elf zone we grouped up and went on a >>fantastic<< adventure deep into a goblin cave. We had a high level shaman with us, outside of the group. We were chatting in 3 different chats, say chat, party chat, and guild chat, the entire time. While fighting, while resting, while traveling, three different chats, constant socializing. Im not a young man any more. And am very tired all the time from lack of sleep(bad sleep condition). And even with all that, it was no issue at all for me to socialize in all 3 of those chats, to multiple people, the entire time and NOT just when sitting. I wasnt even on any voice chat, which would have made the socializing even easier. And we definitely had to sit way more then we should have, but a massive part of the socialization was while not sitting. And thats with me mainly doing melee auto attacks and not just slinging spells the entire time...and I was still mana challenged. JUST like the youtuber pennyloafer I mentioned in a recent video of hers where she had the same issue and she was even sitting the entire time only focusing on healing, and trying to heal sparingly...and she was still low on mana the whole time holding up the entire group.
And your solution in another post here to get 2 healers is ridiculous for a normal group. If someone has a car that is too slow they dont need to put another engine in it...they need to modify the current engine or rebuild it to make it stronger/faster/better. Having to use two healers shouldnt be needed in normal groups, that would just take up another valuable slot that a DPS, or CC class, etc should be in. Only 1 healer should be needed in a group, and they shouldnt have to struggle the entire time. A little downtime is ok, but as it is now its excessive.
